    • Mission Statement

We commit to grow in a life of communion with God and His Church. To live Jesus through sacramental life and unity with the Holy Spirit.
And to reveal and promote the mission of the Catholic family by inviting all to
"Taste and see the goodness of the Lord."

    • About Us

We are a thriving Catholic Community located on the Northshore of the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

As the area continues to settle and develop, St. Jane Parish continues its share of growing pains, what with our small and pleasing Church in Abita Springs, and our small Mission Church in Bush, and the 225 square miles, 5 towns, various nature preserves, farmland, gated communities, and wood farms in between. It’s a great area, with a lively faith.

The history of the parish can be traced to 1825 when missionaries began visiting Abita Springs. But St. Jane’s official founding date is September 7, 1887.

On that date a wooden Mission church was dedicated under the patronage of St. Jane de Chantal. In 1920, St. Jane became an independent body and Fr. Martin Barré, O.S.B., was named to be the Administrator. Under his leadership the present brick church was built in 1924.

To learn more about our story, be sure to read the history compiled by Fr. Francis Sanders who was Pastor for some 20 years in the 60’s – 80’s.
